Check what version of software you currently have to determine if you need an upgrade.
Software Versions:
Version 2.1.0 - We recommend upgrading to the latest version to.
Version 2.3.0 - This is the latest software, it has updated the drive frequency and allows the user to change the frequency. It also improves throttle response and a few other minor bugs identified during the frequency change.
If you determined you need / want a software upgrade. Request a new programmed micro controller and proceed to this step.
If you were happy with the configuration before changing the software, take screen shots of the home and setup page. Note that the timing values will change from V2.1.0 to the latest version.
Take Note of where all wire connections are made
Disconnect power and confirm the unit is OFF
Remove the 4 screws shown on the backside of the controller. There is no need to disconnect wires and remove from the car if you have enough room.
Gently pull straight up on the Micro Controller circled in Red, it does not take a lot of force to remove the controller from the socket.
Inspect the new micro controller for any pins that may have been bent during shipping, if any are not aligned, gently bend them back straight, be careful not to break them, they can only bend back and forth a couple times.
Insert the new Micro Controller in the slot the old one was removed from. Pay attention to the arrow on the board indicating the direction the USB port faces.
Reinstall the cover using the original 4 screws. Be careful when tightening the screws, the holes are not meant for repeated removal and installation.
Confirm all wires are in the same location they were in before you started and none have pulled out a little.
Power ON and reconfigure the way you had it before. Remember if you do not have a throttle pedal, you must disable it before it will work, the controller needs a direction to drive the motors.
